Who is the Data Protection Officer of BWX Travel s.r.o.?

BWX Travel s.r.o. is not required to appoint a Data Protection Officer and therefore does not currently have one.


Why does BWX Travel s.r.o. process the personal data of customers and website users?

BWX Travel s.r.o. processes personal data to fulfil its obligations under the accommodation arrangement contract, or when such processing is required by law or other legal regulations.

Furthermore, BWX Travel s.r.o. sends commercial communications to customers on the basis of its legitimate interest under Act No. 480/2004 on Certain Information Society Services.
If the customer consents in the accommodation arrangement contract, BWX Travel s.r.o. may also take and publish their photographs in promotional materials.

BWX Travel s.r.o. website uses cookies. Users can set their browser to store cookies on their device, which is considered consent to personal data processing. The browser thus serves as the tool for granting consent.


Does BWX Travel s.r.o. share personal data with other entities?

Yes, BWX Travel s.r.o. shares customer personal data with other entities.

For the purpose of fulfilling the accommodation arrangement contract, BWX Travel s.r.o. shares customer data with:

  • Hotels
  • Other accommodation providers

On the basis of legitimate interest, BWX Travel s.r.o. shares customer data with:

  • Companies providing IT services to BWX Travel s.r.o., e.g., email service providers

With user consent, BWX Travel s.r.o. shares website user data with:

  • Google Ireland Ltd, operator of marketing tools like Google Analytics and Google Ads. See how Google processes personal data here.
  • Meta Platforms Inc., operator of tools like Facebook Pixel and other analytics. See how Meta Platforms processes personal data here.
  • NFCtron, which provides us with a solution for selling Tickets, ticket check-in at the venue and cashless if it is used at the event.
  • GoPay Czech, which provides us with a payment gateway solution. However, we do not receive any information about your payment card from the payment gateway, only whether you have made the payment.
  • Solvica, for data processing and visitor analysis.
  • MailerLite, provider of newsletter distribution software.

Based on legal regulations, personal data may also be shared with authorities, if required or in our interest.

Does BWX Travel s.r.o. transfer personal data to third countries, i.e., countries outside the European Economic Area?

Yes, BWX Travel s.r.o. transfers personal data to third countries, but only when:

  • An EU Commission adequacy decision exists, or
  • Standard contractual clauses are in place.


What can customers and website users do if they believe their personal data is being mishandled?

They can raise an objection with BWX Travel s.r.o., and/or file a complaint with the supervisory authority, the Czech Office for Personal Data Protection (www.uoou.cz).


What rights do customers and website users have towards BWX Travel s.r.o. as the data controller?

They may at any time request that BWX Travel s.r.o.:

  • Grants access to their personal data
  • Corrects inaccurate personal data
  • Deletes their personal data under Article 17 GDPR, or restricts its processing


What does the right to access personal data involve?

Customers and users may request confirmation from BWX Travel s.r.o. on whether their personal data is being processed or not.
They may request access to this data and details on how it is processed.
They may also request a copy of the processed personal data.


Can someone request access to another person’s personal data?

No, customers and users may only request access to their own data. In order to act on behalf of someone else, they must have a power of attorney.


How can such a request be submitted?

Requests can be submitted in any form, including by email. The authorized employee is obliged to verify identity and may therefore ask for an identity document.


When will BWX Travel s.r.o. respond?

BWX Travel s.r.o. will inform customers/users about the measures taken within one month. In complex cases, the deadline may be extended.


Is there a charge for the request?

The request and its handling are free of charge. However, BWX Travel s.r.o. may request reimbursement of certain costs (e.g., for a portable disk drive containing all processed data).


How can a customer withdraw consent to data processing?

If consent was given (e.g., for photography), it can be withdrawn at any time.
Users can also disable cookies in their browser settings.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of data processing based on consent prior to its withdrawal.
